I'm an all around creative who has does a little bit of everything and isn’t afraid of much. I’m a storyteller; a writer, illustrator, and producer who travels with watercolors and graces the stage in my free time. An advocate for arts access, my professional and volunteer experience is extensive.
Currently located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I had the wild fortune of working at Meow Wolf, the immersive art cult and tycoon for 4 recent years before taking some time off to be a full time mom. I ascended to the role of Marketing DIrector, which I proudly held for the campaign and opening of both new major market exhibitions in Las Vegas (Omega Mart) and Denver (Convergence Station). Big and small, I did it all. I am proud to have produced over 30 artist-focused mini documentary films as a part of these campaigns that share in detail the breadth, depth, and humanity behind the art. I set brand and press strategy for and produced major commercial campaign creative, while programming small bites on the rapidly growing social channels. But my most fond memories are of creating tiny stop motion videos with my friends and seizing the day wherever possible.
Previously, I was the senior editor Salt Magazine, an arts and culture magazine, in Wilmington, NC. My column sketchbook and feature stories are linked in the Writing tab. Previously, I worked in marketing and design at the Wilson Center on the opening team of the 1550-seat performing arts center. It was an enormous responsibility to create visual branding for this venue: logos, signage, e-newsletter; you name it, I designed it.
A theatre person to the core, I'm a fierce collaborator who loves a good brainstorm and a deadline. Shape shifting between writing, acting, and art has always felt natural, as my skill set adapts to the medium, not the other way around.
For four summers I worked on an archaeological dig in Egypt, Tell Timai, as a site artist (and training to excavate). I rolled the knowledge and creativity I discovered there into an illustrated children's history book The Story of Ancient Timai, published by Nahdet Misr via a National Geographic grant. Two thousand copies were distributed to the village schools in May, 2015 to make local history accessible and exciting.
I'm currently at work on a graphic novel and a memoir.
